Two Mahidol Scientists Received Outstanding Scientist Award 2010 from the Foundation for the Promotion of Science and Technology under the Patronage of H.M. the King

On June 28^thh, 2010, Clin. Prof. Piyasakol Sakolsatayadorn, M.D., President of Mahidol University, chaired a press conference, announcing recipients of Mahidol University Awards 2009. The Mahidol University Awards was awarded annually since 1975 to recognize outstanding individuals who contributed to their disciplines as well as to the public. The recipients will receive the awards in Mahidol University’s commencement ceremony. This press conference was held at the Faculty of Medicine, Siriraj Hospital, Mahidol University, and attended by the award recipients.

Prof. Auewarakul received this award from his work in the study of antiviral immune responses in human lung. Prof. Thongboonkerd received this award for applying renal and urinary proteome analysis to study disease pathogenesis, which have novel application for biomarker discovery. On this occasion, Mahidol University would like congratulate our two outstanding scientists.
