Mahidol University has three campuses in the Bangkok metropolitan area:
the large suburban campus at Salaya in nearby Nakhon Pathom province,
and two inner city campuses in Bangkok Noi and Phayathai in the Bangkok area,
in addition to a downtown high-rise office site for the College of Management.
There are also provincial campuses in Kanchanaburi, Nakhon Sawan and Amnaj Charoen provinces.
Mahidol's campuses are electronically linked by a state-of-the-art computer network which provides academic,
research and administrative computing services to the various departments of the university and to all staff and students.

Salaya Campus, opened in 1982,
is just a short distance from Bangkok's city limits in Phuttamonthon District, Nakhon Pathom Province,
on 520 acres (210 hectares) of natural beauty, landscaped gardens and lush tropical scenery.

With the largest number of academic institutions,
Salaya Campus also contains the widest variety of research centers and facilities of Mahidol University.
Also located on the campus are the Student Union; Office of the President;
and numerous student and staff dormitories and condominiums.
Spacious, modern and well-equipped facilities for both indoor
and outdoor sports are also available at Salaya Campus including swimming pools,
tennis courts, badminton courts, petanque courts, soccer fields and indoor stadiums for basketball,
volleyball and other indoor sports. Students are encouraged to take part
in both competitive sports and physical exercise. The spacious layout of the campus,
with wide walkways and ample green space, also allows much opportunity for jogging,
walking or exercising on one's own in a pleasant open environment.

Phayathai Campus is located on a 78-acre (32-hectare)
plot of land near the Victory Monument in central Bangkok,
surrounded by very active commercial and residential districts.
Separated into three distinct but linked compounds,

Within the various Faculties are research centers and centers of excellence in numerous specialized fields including
TROPMED Dengue Diagnostic Center (TDC) and
the Vaccine

For Shrimp Molecular Biology And Biotechnology, Center
for Protein Structure and Function at the Faculty of Science, to name a
few.
Although in an urban setting, the campus has set aside areas for physical recreation,
including a soccer field, tennis and basketball courts, a Sports Center and an indoor stadium.
On the campus itself, there are cafeterias, stores and student clubs in the various Faculties catering
to a diverse range of academic and cultural interests, which arrange activities year-round.

The oldest of the three Bangkok campuses, Bangkok Noi Campus is located on 28 acres (12 hectares)
and is home to the original medical school attached to Siriraj Hospital, founded by H.M. King Chulalongkorn of Thailand in 1890
which over time expanded into Mahidol University. The campus has retained its academic focus on medicine, revolving around the Siriraj Hospital complex.
Bangkok Noi Campus
is home to the Faculties
of Nursing, Medical
Technology, and Medicine,
Siriraj Hospital.
The Royal Thai Government recently approved a project proposal by the Faculty of Medicine,
Siriraj Hospital, to use the adjacent 12-acre site belonging to the State Railway of Thailand,
to house a major expansion of the Faculty’s facilities, research activities and services,
enhancing the whole spectrum of medical and public health research toward medical excellence in Southeast Asia.
Sporting facilities on campus include an indoor gymnasium, swimming pools, and tennis courts.
Bangkok Noi Campus is centrally located in Bangkok, with easy transport connections to various shopping and entertainment areas,
including instant access to the ferries which ply the Chao Phraya River. Eating establishments
and accommodation both on and off campus are also affordable and readily available.

 Provincial Campuses

Mahidol
University opened the Kanchanaburi
Campus
in western Thailand in mid-2002 with the main objective of expanding higher education into the upcountry regions,
so as to increase local incomes, create occupational opportunities and improve the quality of life of the rural people.
Thus far an Administration Building, Lecture Building, Science Laboratory Building, 5 dormitories
and associated infrastructure have been constructed on the large, 2,370-acre campus, and 3 field stations,
for research in population studies, tropical medicine, and livestock and wildlife hospital have been established.
Presently, under construction are a dormitory and extended infrastructures.
Seven Programs have been offered by the Faculty of Science and the College of Management.
Mahidol continues to develop two additional provincial campuses in Nakorn Sawan province in the north of the country,
and Amnaj Chareon province in the northeast.
Nakhon Sawan Campus
with an Administration Building and a lecture Building,
started accepting students in Management in 2004 and Arts in 2005.

Amnaj Charoen Campus is undergoing a feasibility study expected to be completed soon. |
