The
Ratchasuda Foundation

| Background :
 The
Ratchasuda Foundation was established
by the command of HRH
Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn,
with the aim providing funds for education
of disabled persons and supporting research
that would benefit them. Her Royal Highness
graciously bestowed her name “Ratchasuda”
to the foundation on Visakabucha
day, on Tuesday 28th May 1991, and continues
to act as the
Royal Patron of the Foundation.
The Foundation has provided opportunities
for those with physical disablilites,
such as: the deaf, the dumb, those unable
to speak or having speech defects, those
with visual disabilities, mental and
physical disabilities, or those with
movement disabilities, to have the opportunity
to study further at university at all
levels, taught by the normal people.
Since its establishment, the foundation
has expanded its activities to support
the education of normal people who provide
services to the disabled, such as administrators
dealing with the disabled, special education
teachers, and those in institutions
for the rehabilitation of the disabled.
We also provide various services for
the disabled, for example giving the
advice about sign language services.
Future plans include expansion of help
to the other categories of disabled,
such as: behaviorally disabled, educationally
disabled and mentally retarded persons,
as well as the partially disabled people.

Providing educational services and job
training will able the disabled to take
care of themselves - this is the greatest
merit. |

| The Ratchasuda Foundation
accepts financial contributions, assets,
equipment and other materials that will
be useful for the educating the disabled,
for developing their occupations, and
for enabling disabled persons to lead
independent lives. |
