Dr Bhinyo Panijpan Director of the Institute for Innovation and Development of Learning Process, Mahidol University and Deputy Director Dr Pintip Ruenwongsa met with the Minister of Science and Technology the Permanent Secretary, the Deputy Permanent Secretary and the Advisor to the Minister at the Ministry on 1 May 2008 to discuss terms and conditions for the purchase of multimedia compact discs for teaching science and mathematics. Most of the Institute’s available CD’s cater to high school students while others are meant for elementary level children. The minister proposed to purchase all 45 CD’s made by the Institute for distributing to all schools nationwide. In addition to the CD’s currently available the Institute was asked to produce extra CD’s for teaching science and mathematics for elementary schools. As an effort to promote better use of these CD’s the Institute has volunteered to go on public broadcasting television to help users understand various novel pedagogical and interactive features of the multimedia discs.
