Prof. Dr. Suwilai Premsrirat,
former director of Institute
of Language and Culture
for Rural Development, Mahidol
University, received CIPL
Award 2008 from Comité
International Permanent
des Linguistes (The Permanent
International Committee
of Linguists) (CIPL). CIPL
is an international organization
founded to assist in the
development of linguistic
science, and CIPL tries
to further linguistic research
and to co-ordinate activities
undertaken for the advancement
of linguistics. Prof. Dr.
Suwilai Premsrirat was the
first to receive this award.
Award ceremony took place
during the 18th International
Congress of Linguistics
on July 21st-26th, 2008,
organized by CIPL and the
Linguistics Society of Korea
at Korea University, Soul,
South Korea.
