Anukarahanonta, Director
of National Doping Control
Centre released that after
World Anti-Doping Agency
(WADA) conducted annual
proficiency testing of the
National Doping Control
Centre (NDCC), Mahidol
University at the end of
last year. WADA announced
that NDCC passed the proficiency
testing and is accredited
with the international standard
for the 11th consecutive
year.
This year, the Board of
Administration agreed that
NDCC should be more proactive.
Thus, a public relation
officer will be assigned.
Furthermore, NDCC will propose
to support Ministry of Education
in organizing training related
to the substances of abuse
for academic institutions,
which also follows the ratification
that NDCC made with UNESCO.
The Director of NDCC stated
at the end that the work
at NDCC has been satisfied,
and the profit generated
is sufficient for self-support.
This year, the NDCC took
part in analysis of prohibited
substances in the 8th ASEAN
Paralympic Games on January
20-26, 2008 at Nakorn Ratchasima
Province. Other international
competition is expected
to follow as it has been
every year.
