On Dec. 19, 2008, Prof. Roger D. Kornberg, 2006 Nobel Laureate for Chemistry, delivered a special lecture on “Science as a Basis for Bridging Between Cultures and Fostering Peace and Development” organized by the Faculty of Science, Mahidol University to commemorate the 50th Anniversary of Faculty of Science.

This keynote lecture reiterated the importance of major scientific discoveries that led to solving of health problems, improve quality of life, and various other aspects. Not only have the discoveries had applications and advancement in knowledge, which is not merely limited to scientific community, but the society and humanity as a whole benefited, receiving a better and more sustain lives.
