On December 17, 2010,
Professor Napatawn Banchuin, M.D., Ph.D., Vice President of Mahidol University, presided over Social Science, Humanity, and Educational Science Academic Conference on
“Thai Society Reformation, Hope, and Reality” at Royal River Hotel, Bangkok, which was organized by Faculty of Social Sciences and Humanities, Mahidol University.
Faculty of Social Sciences and Humanities, Mahidol University, has been aware of social crises in Thailand which have been occurred widely, continually, and severely. They are unlikely to stop in the foresee future. There are political, economical, ethical, and moral crises. In order to enhance wisdom to meet the need of the country, and do as the philosophy of Mahidol University – “Wisdom of the Land” – the academic conference on “Thai Society Reformation, Hope, and Reality” was organized. Dr. Somchai Pakapaswiwat, a former senator, gave a speech on “Thai Society Reformation, Hope, and Reality”. Also, there was a discussion on “Thai Society Reformation, Politic, Economic, Society, and Education”, by Professor Sujit Bunbongkarn, Ph.D., a former Dean of Faculty of Political Science, Chulalongkorn University, and a member of the National Legislative Assembly of Thailand, Professor Narongchai Akkaraseranee, Ph.D., the chairperson of Seranee Company Group, Dr. Lady Kasama Worawan, a former permanent secretary of Ministry of Education, Dr. Suriyadeo Tripathi, M.D., Director of National Institute for Child and Family Development, Mahidol University. Finally, there were presentations of 81 academic articles
