Following
the 41st Asia Pacific Academic
Consortium for Public Health (APACPH
), in Taipei on 3-6 December 2009,
the representatives from the Faculty
of Public Health, Mahidol Univerisity,
led by Assoc. Prof. Phitaya Charupoonphol,
Dean, Faculty of Public Health,
including Deputy Deans, an Assistant
Dean and supporting staffs, visited
3 universities in Taiwan, the
Republic of China (ROC); National
Taiwan University, China Medical
University, and Taipei Medical
University.
The
visiting program established stronger
links with Taiwanese colleagues
through the facilitative sharing
of administrative and human resources.
The objectives of the visit were
to initially meet senior Taiwanese
health staff and to see at first
hand, both the Public Health facilities
and the facilities of related
fields. Secondly, opportunities
for joint research collaboration
were discussed, and thirdly, ongoing
students exchange programs were
proposed, including a reciprocation
of students exchange program already
established with both China Medical
University and National Taiwan
University.
A
Memorandum of Understanding (MOU)
was signed between the faculties
of Public Health of Mahidol University
and the College of Public Health
of Taipei Medical University and
soon after returning to Bangkok,
another MOU was signed between
the faculty of Public Health of
Mahidol and the College of Public
Health of China Medical University.
