On September 29, 2010, His Majesty the King Bhumibol Adulyadej, with Her Majesty the Queen Sirikit and Her Royal Highness Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn, were guests of honor at “Siriraj Concert in Honor of the Great Artistic Monarch”. The Thailand Philharmonic Orchestra performed his compositions in a concert at the Royal Medical College auditorium, Faculty of Medicine Siriraj Hospital, Mahidol University.
“Siriraj Concert in Honor of the Great Artistic Monarch” was held to commemorate the last musical performance His Majesty played for a student audience at the Royal Medical College auditorium, Faculty of Medicine Siriraj Hospital, Mahidol University, on September 29, 1973.
The Thailand Philharmonic Orchestra is a professional orchestra under the patronage of the Royal Thai Government and is part of the Mahidol University College of Music, which has Assistant Professor Doctor Sugree Charoensook as a music director, and Gudni Emilsson and Captain Prateep Suphanrojn as conductors. The orchestra has national and international concerts every year. This is such a great honor occasion for them to perform 19 songs composed by His Majesty the King.
