MU University Council Chairman Prof. Wicharn Panich (M.D.) offered congratulations to two Mahidol scientists, Prof. Dr. Virapong Prachayasittikul and Dr. Visith Thongboonkerd (M.D.) for being named Outstanding National Researchers for 2010. The former was honored for his research in chemical sciences and pharmacy, the latter for his work in medical science.

         Prof. Wicharn praised the two researchers at the meeting of the University Council on January 19, 2011. He said Dr. Virapong’s work exemplified successful community research and suggested that the university organize a meeting of community research groups and invite Dr.Virapong to give opinions and suggestions on ways to conduct high-impact community research with an emphasis on techniques in formulating research problems, presentation and writing research papers that meet the standards of international journals.
