On June 1, 2011, Prof Sansanee Chaiyaroj, Vice President for Research and Academic Affairs of Mahidol University; Assoc. Prof Sugree Charoensook, Dean of College of Music, Mahidol University presided over a Press Conference and Opening Ceremony of
Thailand International Music Examination (TIME) at Mahidol Campus for the General Public Siam Paragon.
Thailand International Music Examination (TIME) will be the first international level music examination center in Thailand, with the purpose to raise a higher standard of music education in Thailand and abroad. Accepted by Mahidol University, Thailand International Music Examination (TIME) System provides the professional standard of music education and assessment. There will be examination in three areas: Western Music, Thai Music and Folk Music. The exams are designed to help students and trainees progress; to mark an achievement at each stage of their development and to lead to an international level. Presently, 1.2 million of young Thai students are studying music in private music schools and studios. This would provide the great opportunity to young children to be standardized on their musical talent at the early age. Furthermore, candidates, who pass the TIME’s music examination, can be exempted to the admission to the College of Music, Mahidol University.
