Three Mahidol University students took part in 8th International Abilympics in Seoul, South Korea on September 27-29, 2011.
Mr. Anirut Phanbanjobsingh, Mr.Thinnakorn Phuttabutra and Mr.Supakit Piamsuwansiri
from Ratchasuda College were among 19 people representing Thailand in competition in 18 vocational skill categories.
Mr.Anirut won a bronze in pottery while Mr.Thinnakorn ran in the painting contest.
Competitors from 57 countries across the globe vied for medals in more than 40 categories offered by this year’s IA, the Olympics of work skills for people with disabilities.
Apart from encouraging the disabled to develop their vocational skills to the international level, the event, by showcasing their abilities, aims to promote public awareness and appreciation that would enhance their employment opportunities.
The next IA will be held in Helsinki, Finland in 2015.
