On July 26 , 2011, at Siam City Hotel, Bangkok,  Clinical Professor Piyasakol Sakolsatayadorn , President of Mahidol University presided over the opening ceremony of The 11th International Conference on Thai Studies : Visions of the future organized by Research Institute for Languages and Culture of Asia.  The purpose of this three day conference(26-28 July, 2011) is to share knowledge and perspectives reflect on the course of Thailand’s history and to envision the way forward as the country has under gone crucial changes and challenges.

        In addition , it has special speeches such as “The Disappearing Past : Hidden Histories and Vanishing Environments” by Prof. Dr.John Hartmann, Northern Illinois University and Prof.William Klausner , The Institute of Security and International Studies , “Thainess” In the Face of Universal Human Rights Protection of Cultural and Linguistic Identity” by Prof. Dr.Suwilai Premsrirat from Mahidol University and Dr.Coeli Barry , Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn Anthropology Centre (Public Organization) and Assoc. Prof.Gothom Arya from Mahidol University too.
