Mahidol University announced a plan to establish a center specialized in elderly health care and hospice services that will serve as a blueprint for improving the quality of life for senior citizens as Thailand is heading towards an aged society within the next decade.

         The Center for Integrated Elderly Health and Hospice Care will be located in the seaside resort district of Hua Hin, Prachuabkirikhan.

         The announcement was made by the university administrators led by University President Prof. Rajata Rajatanavin, MD. on November 26, 2012 at Room 101, Institute for Population and Social Research, Mahidol University at Salaya.

         The creation of the Center will help prepare Thailand to address the needs of its elderly population at the approach of an aged society
