Mahidol University unveiled a project to establish a Creative Academy for Cultural and Heritage Tourism to aid communities to develop capacity and entrepreneurship for creative economic activities.
The planned academy will be tasked with the development of model communities in cultural tourism through research on tourism trends, transfer of know-how, support in intellectual property management, entrepreneurship education, integrated business counseling, and training programs.
The launch event of the project, held on March 23, 2012 at general meeting room on 3rd floor of International College, featured a keynote speech titled
“Policy on Creative Economy and Thailand’s Tourism” by former prime minister and Democrat Party leader Abhisit Vejjajiva and a panel discussion. Mahidol Univeristy President
Prof. Rajata Rajatanavin and other administrators attended the event.
