According to Emerald Group Publishing, CMMU report, The Power of Vision: Statements that Resonate, by Associate Professor Dr. Sooksan Kantabutra and Professor Dr Gayle C. Avery of Macquarie University, in the Journal of Business Strategy (JBS) is among the most frequently downloaded reports, so far attracting over 800 individual downloads by researchers, practitioners, academics and consultants from around the world since publication in late 2010.
The report has identified characteristics of strategic visions that are associated with desirable performance outcomes by examining findings from Dr. Kantabutra's vision studies in American, Australian and Thai businesses to derive characteristics of effective vision statements. Findings indicate that effective visions are characterized by conciseness, clarity, abstractness, stability, future orientation, challenge and desirability or ability to inspire in Australian, Thai and US businesses. Such visions are associated with higher performance outcomes.
In 2011, this report has been reprinted in full as a chapter in a key strategy textbook, Crafting and Executing Strategy: Concepts and Readings, edited by Thompson Jr., Strickland III & Gamble. The textbook was launched worldwide by McGraw-Hill in New York, USA.
This most frequently downloaded research report confirms the high quality and practicality of research conducted at College of Management, Mahidol University (CMMU).
