On 30 May 2013 (1:00 - 3:30 pm) at Sheraton Grande Sukhumvit Hotel, the College of Management, Mahidol University (CMMU), in collaboration with the Faculty of Medicine Siriraj Hospital and the Faculty of Medicine Ramathibodi Hospital, organized a joint press conference to introduce a new international program, Master of Management in Healthcare and Wellness Management, which aims to produce quality managers and specialized management professionals, who can respond to changes and execute organizations effectively for the Thai healthcare industry and the AEC. Prospective students can apply for this program until 20 June 2013 via CMMU Online Application System.
The press conference was honorably witnessed by H.E. Mr. Pradit Sintavanarong Minister of Public Health (fifth from left).
At the press conference, Prof. Ratchata Ratchatanawin, M.D., the President of Mahidol University (photo above), gave a welcome and opening speech to the media and audience. Prof. Ratchata stated that Thailand is moving towards the ASEAN Economic Community or AEC in 2015 and that it is a great opportunity for all sectors including Mahidol University to internationally enhance our potential and knowledge to respond to the new needs of the medical and health service sector and to prepare for being a medical hub in ASEAN. He also added that the newly introduced program, which is the collaboration among the three faculties of Mahidol University, is also an opportunity for Mahidol University to strengthen our internal network through the integration of knowledge of different fields including medicine, public health, management, and business administration to generate quality and excellence for our graduates.
During the press conference, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Annop Tanlamai, Dean of CMMU (middle), Prof. Winit Phuapradit, M.D., Dean of the Faculty of Medicine Ramathibodi Hospital (left), and Prof. Prasit Wattanapa, M.D., Deputy Dean and Director of the Siriraj Medical School (right), signed an MOU on collaboration of the newly introduced program.
Assist. Prof. Dr.Prattana Punnakitikashem, Program Chair of Healthcare and Wellness Management Program, gave a brief presentation to media and audience about the program.
Right after the press conference, CMMU also organized a seminar to address the changes that will affect the health industry in the country under the title "Healthcare in turbulent times. What is the new role of healthcare professionals?" The panel was honored by professionals in the health business in Thailand to discuss the different interesting issues, and explained the reasons why Thailand should become the "Medical Hub of ASEAN" after the emerging ASEAN Economic Community in 2015.
