Clin. Prof. Piyasakol Sakolsatayadorn, President of Mahidol University and Prof. Stephen Holloway (seated: left), Executive Pro-Vice-Chancellor for Science and Engineering of University of Liverpool, United Kingdom signed a Memorandum of Understanding on 13th January 2010 at Queen Victoria Club, British Embassy, Bangkok. The signing was witnessed by executives from both universities.

        The representatives of University of Liverpool, including Prof. Samar Hasnain, Prof. Andrew I. Cooper and Prof. Chris Frid also visited MU’s Faculty of Science and were welcomed by the University’s administrators.

        Clin. On January 20th, 2010, Assoc.Prof. Emorn Wasantwisut, Vice President for International Relations of Mahidol University and the executives of relevant Faculties welcomed Prof. Hiwon Yoon, Vice President for International Affairs, and Mr. Hyunseung Shin, Director, Office of International Affairs, from Seoul National University (SNU), South Korea, in the occasion of visiting program , and discussion on research collaboration and student mobility. Moreover, the two universities signed the Agreement on SNU-Woongjin Global Scholarship for student exchange, at the meeting room 515, 5th Floor, Office of the President, Salaya Campus. After that, the delegations from SNU also visited the Faculty of Engineering and Mahidol University International College (MUIC).

         On December 29^th, 2009, Clin. Prof. Piyasakol Sakolsatayadorn, President of Mahidol Unioversity welcomed Prof. Ole Petter Ottersen, Rector of the University of Oslo and Dr.Reidun Torp from Department of Anatomy, Centre for Molecular Biology and Neuroscience, in the occasion of the Signing Ceremony of the General Agreement for Academic Exchange between Mahidol University and University of Oslo.

        The Mahidol-Oxford Tropical Medicine Research Unit began since 1979 as a research collaboration between the Faculty of Tropical Medicine, Mahidol University, Oxford University (UK), and Wellcome Trust. The Unit organized its 30th Anniversary Celebration as well as inaugurated the grand opening of the Office and Laboratories located at the 8th Floor, 60th Anniversary Chalermprakiat Building, Faculty of Tropical Medicine. Clin. Prof. Piyasakol Sakolsatayadorn, M.D., President of Mahidol University chaired the opening ceremony along with the board of administration of the Faculty of Tropical Medicine, Oxford University, and Wellcome Trust.
