International degree programs at postgraduate level began more than 40 years ago, with most programs being coordinated by the Faculty of Graduate Studies. However, most of the teaching is performed at some 20 faculties, institutes, and colleges of the university. These include some 60 Doctoral Degree programs, some 50 Master's Degree programs, 2 Higher Graduate Diploma and 2 Graduate Diploma programs. Postgraduate research at Mahidol University is of the highest caliber, and students regularly win Outstanding Thesis Awards from the National Research Council of Thailand, successfully competing with Thai students graduating from the best universities in the world. Scholarships for highly qualified students are often available from international organizations, the Thai government or foreign governments, as well as from the Faculty of Graduate Studies and other faculties of Mahidol University.
