Mahidol University places strong emphasis on research, and is arguably the most renowned university for research in Thailand. Thus, Mahidol University produced more international publications in ISI-WOS databases than any other Thai university over the period 1999-2007, amounting to a total of nearly 5,329 publications, of which 4,542 publications were articles/letters/reviews (see details shown below). During the same period, 3,669 of these publications were cited in ISI-WOS journals, amounting to a total of 37,384 citations.
