To maintain the quality of research, the university provides strategic support in terms of funding, facilities and personnel. Research equipment may also come from government sources or from project grants. Equally important is the encouragement of research, for example through establishment of Centers of Excellence, and the development of young researchers through mentorship and young scientist grants.
