Location: Stang Mongkolsuk Library, 3rd floor of Physics Building, Faculty of Science, Mahidol University, Phayathai Campus
History:
“Stang Mongkolsuk Museum” was established by Faculty of Science, Mahidol University in order to honor Professor Dr. Stang Mongkolsuk, the first dean and the founder of Faculty of Science. The displays in the museum include permanent exhibitions, a collection of documents, and archives relating to Professor Stang. Moreover, history, works, and ten outstanding scientists of the faculty are also displayed here. Objectives of Stang Mongkolsuk Museum are to be a learning place for students and visitors, and to be a role model for the next generation.
The establishment project was launched on July 15, 2004, which was the 85th birthday of Professor Dr. Stang Mongkolsuk, and also the day for Stang Mongkolsuk Library’s religious ceremony after its first innovation 36 years ago. Later, the 31-square meter space on the 3rd floor of the library was prepared and decorated with display cases and new wall. The project was completed on December 15, 2004, with the budget of 310,300 baht. The museum is currently in the process of collecting data from various sources and opening for donation of historical photos and materials related to the faculty
