one year after this event, Venerable Moggallputta,
under the patronage of King Asoka, sent forth a number of Arahant Bhikkhus
to various directions, with the purpose of making known the Dhamma to as
many peoples of foreign lands as possible. They were divided into nine
groups, each going to different directions. It has since been the Greatest
Buddhist Missionary activities ever attempted. And Thailand has been one of
the fortunate recipients of that Invaluable Messages.
