Organized to coincide with the launch of the ASEAN Economic Community (AEC), on 15th January 2016, Mahidol University held its annual celebration of its international staff and students – Mahidol University International Night 2015. Entitled “Discovering ASEAN”, and held at the Faculty of Liberal Arts, Mahidol University, the event attracted over 700 participants – making it the biggest international night in its twenty-one year history.
The evening culminated with the announcement of the annual Mr. and Ms. Mahidol University International Night, Popular Vote and Creative Awards for the most impressive and inspiring national costumes.
Following a preliminary question and answer round, Mr. Ariz Qillah, a Master’s student from Indonesia based at the Faculty of Science and Ms. Shwe Sin Ko Ko, a Master’s student from Myanmar based at the Faculty of Engineering were crowned Mr. and Ms. International Night 2015 – with Ms. Sin Ko Ko also winning the Popular Vote.
Meanwhile, Ms. Covanna Bollar from the US and Mr. Maximilan Bergaver from Germany (both based at MUIC) received the Creative Award.
